I have a SWFA 6X42 on the way to match up to my new Hunter. I'm already familiar with the scope, but not the rifle.

Does anyone already run this combo & if so, what was your mounting solution?

I run a Swarovski Z3 3-10X42 on a Kimber Montana with Talley Medium height rings. I initially mounted it with Talley Low rings but had to push the scope forward so it wouldn't touch the barrel (and still could only fit a sheet or two of paper between scope bell and barrel) which altered my natural head position making me lean too far forward and decreasing eye relief.

Mine is mounted with Hawkins rings on a 20 moa rail that I bedded and cut the center out of.Screenshot_20211212-202236_Gallery.jpg

I've run the burris dual dovetails with the zee inserts with happiness too.

I have a Hunter with a Leupold VX-2 3-9x40, in Talley Lows. I have it set pretty far forward in the rings to make sure I have enough barrel clearance.

If you're interested, I have a brand new set of 1 inch Talley medium with the anti-cant bubble ring for a Kimber. I had it on my Kimber Montana but switched to leupold rings and bases. Only shot it once at the range.

I have a hunter in 308, with a 6x42 MQ… initially went with Talley lows but now I’m running Warne lows on a EGW rail.

Talley lows here. One thing I find is with butler creek caps the bolt clearance on the back is a little tight. But I a little shave of the cap makes it right.

I don’t use Talley. Shaving an ounce or even 4 on rings is not for me, given the severity of failure.

Leupold is what I’ve used for countless rifles and deployments.

Tally gets “Tikka love” around here so be careful what you say....Haha
