My buddy and I packed into a general season unit with 7 days worth of food on our backs. It was by far the most I’ve worked during a hunt. I passed a few good bucks and my buddy killed a buck on day 3. We packed it around the mountain while we moved camp 2 more times. I was content with not filling my tag, because I was wanting to kill my biggest buck, or nothing. On the morning of day 6 I found a small bull elk and we went and killed him. We cut him up and climbed right back up the mountain and I glassed up a gnarly old buck just 30 minutes later. An hour after I glassed him, I had my biggest buck on the ground after a grind of a hunt! We got off the mountain on day 7 at 9:00pm.
