Kifaru

This year is my first out of state hunt. I am going to Wyoming for antelope. I am wanting to go with a framed kifaru pack, but having a hard time deciding on which bag. Suggestions?

Might need a little additional information to receive accurate advice. Are you day hunting or packing in? If packing in, for how long? They have so many great options it is hard to choose.

Will be used on day hunting. I want the frame to be able to pack out. I'm mainly an Oklahoma whitetail hunter so would like dual purpose bag.

really going to boil down to how you like to organize. personally for a day pack i run an apollo and use the meat shelf.

If you’re set on Kifaru, then the Mag 22 sounds like the right bag.

Agree with Bcaulder - hard to beat the 22 mag for your purposes, may want to look at the Woodsman as well.

I have a 22 mag and it is an awesome little pack. I actually bought it with some antelope hunts in mind.

Nomad might be another good option. Perfect day pack and easily expands to haul meat against the frame or longer hunts with a dry bag between the wings. I run an OGL all of the time and then include a native under the wings for colder weather hunts when adding and stripping layers.

Ive got a kifaru frame and reckoning, woodsman, and mountain rambler bags and a g1 late season. If I was picking a kifaru right now for day hunting antelope it would be the mountain rambler. If i could use any of my packs it would be the popup 28. I've always just carried out boned meat and the head on antelope.

You could go with the crater and then you wouldn’t even have to quarter the goat gut it and stuff the whole animal inside plus your gear lol. Personally I’d agree with the 22mag

I use the exact same set up. Perfect for what you are looking for.

The nomad with a grab it is hard to beat for versatility. It’s the perfect day pack with serious meat hauling ability and it can get you multi days with a dry bag. I love my nomad 2.

I rocked the apollo this past year as a day pack and it worked awesome packed out 2 bucks with it. This year I’ll be using a woodsman just a little extra room .

Honestly any of the bags will work great and they all compact down pretty small.

Good thing about them is you can buy a new frame and catch and release used bags until you get the one you like best.

I just picked up a Kifaru EMR2 it packs down to 2400cu in up 8400cu in or so. Its dimensionally big, but pretty light IMO, seems to be one of their premier hunting packs. Its got plenty of pockets and what not. Should take everything I have and also pack down enough for day trip use.

Not cheap though but it will last me a lifetime.
