As subject indicates. Just completed a safe and reliable buy from @ClangClang and may have found two bags that fit all my needs (famous last words), but the one thing that would add that little extra would be this access zipper that appears in the manual as well as current pics on Kifaru website. Got the black color that I prefer. Ranger green kinda nice too. But that zipper is tops for me. Thanks in advance for any help and info.

I'm not sure what your asking? From the topic, I'd say this was a possible one off contract for the military as these came out right in the heat of Afganistain / Iraq. Never knew they had a back zipper would have to been early build models
X ray is an awesome bag and I wish I kept the few I have.
Older ones were a little smaller, 1800 ci I believe.

If you check the current listing on Kifaru website, it shows a zip on top in back view although the manual that someone provided with the recent purchase does not (so it matches the model I have which has the newer lid design) Here is pick:

No radio access zipper on the commercially available xray that I've ever seen/known of since it's inception. The picture that you provided is the top lid zipper pouch. The lid sags down like that when the pack isn't fully loaded, especially on the "newer" models where the top portion of the bag was extended by an inch or two.

Ahh, yes. I see it now. It is the top lid access. Oof. Sorry all. I am jot crazy though. I am certain I saw it somewhere. Is it on another bag?

The only packs that had zippered radio access were the marauder and pointman. Other floating top lid packs like the Zulu had a strip of Velcro for radio access.

Did you try Kifrau and see what they say? Arron is pretty quick to answer from what I hear.
Like I said this could have been a military specific model. Either way the x ray is an awesome pack!

Actually, from x-ray manual: View attachment 535532
The manual is wrong :)

Edited to add: Check out this video if you haven't. It's from Mel almost a decade ago. The first pack shown is the xray and you can clearly see there's no zippered radio access. Same with the 2nd pack (xing...larger xray). But the 3rd pack is the pointman and you can see the zippered radio access.
