Does anyone have the tahr and the duplex timberline 2 packs to lay out next to each other and take a picture?

I'll see if my brother can get a pic of his DT2 and Tahr together but here is a pic of the DT1 and Tahr

I'm looking at both these bags

seems like the dt2 would be better for compressing the main compartment with the outside pockets holding all gear or most of it vs the argali with whatever pods you add to it and doing the same task
$$ it looks like about the same price once all the pods are added to the argali

difference being the argali is capable of more 7000ci

not sure my 184 pound frame wants to or should carry more than 100lbs at a time anyway

decisions decisions

Remember, the Tahr can be rolled down for compression. The bag can be compressed to a very slim day pack. You don't have to keep loose fabric if not filled all the way.

Also worth noting, Aron states that the tahr is 3400 ci w/ the lid folded down (link). So w/ the lid extended and using an actual lid the tahr's main body is closer to 3700 (link).

So if you guess the DT2 = 5,200 ci (~600ci for the front pockets, ~1000ci for side pockets), you're looking at ~3600ci for the main body of the DT2 which is the same as the tahr fully extended.

Never had a Tahr but I'm pretty sure my AMR cinches down better than my new DT2 ever did. Plus the back pockets left available for stuff are bigger on the AMR.

I thought I remembered Aron saying the new DT front pockets were basically the same as the AMR's now?

The 3 compression straps on the AMR/tahr really help compress it.

The DT back pockets are definitely bigger than they used to be but I think they're still a little smaller than the AMR back pockets.

However, take Aron's word for it. He'd know best.
