Hey all, 1st post here.

I've run into a situation where everything I've put in for is pretty lat season (read: late November to mid Dec), so I figured this year would be a good time to get into a hot tent. I went with the Kifaru supertarp, and the stove I went with was a SO SXL. I am finding that the annex on this setup is not as angled as I thought it'd be, and the lack of ability for the SO stove to run the stove pipe at an angle may well end up melting the portion of the tarp that overhangs over the annex.

I have seen photos of this tarp being run with some cylinder stoves that allowed for the pipe to be run at an angle to avoid this issue, but the Kifaru folks mentioned that they're no longer producing it due to supply issues. I am curious if anyone else knows where I might find a lightweight stove option to run in this tarp, or did I simply go with an older option that might not have the same support surrounding it as it once did?

Any info is greatly appreciated. Also, feel free to just reach out; Am looking forward to getting permission to get on the classifieds here.

Thanks y'all.

I have a Super Tarp and run a TiGoat cylinder stove in it. To be honest for real late hunts like you mention it wouldn’t be my first choice. Days are generally pretty short then and you spend more time in the tent.

Thanks for the reply.

Does the TiGoat allow you to run the stove pipe at a decent angle?

I’ve considered going with a small tipi too, something that’d work with the straight stove pipe (argali Rincon or absaroka, SO cimarron, etc). Just wanted to try my best to make this one work first..

If I do end up going that route I may have another supertarp for sale on here soon, lol.

Do you know what those older models are called, that run the pipe at an angle like that?
