Kifaru Reckoning size comparison with a CFP-90, using a Sevylor Yukon inflatable kayak for scale.

Just got my Kifaru Reckoning and figured I'd post a few photos to help give an idea of the size for those wondering.

The raft, pump, 2 paddles, pfd, seats and some other smaller gear fit easily. Clothes fit in the Guide Lid. There wouldn't have been room for O/N gear without some serious lashing on the outside of the pack.

Much better than the mesh sack with shoulder straps the kayak came with.

The Reckoning holds more than my CFP-90 even when the patrol pack is included.

The comfort of the Reckoning on the Tactical Frame is in a totally different league than the old pack. Hard to go back. Like flying first class then having to fly economy.

The side pockets on the Reckoning are massive, room to spare with paddles in one and pump in the other.

The paddles just squeezed into the CFP-90's long side pocket (the other side has 2 half pockets) but the pump wasn't even close to making it.

One feature the CFP-90 has that I haven't yet decided if I'd like on the Reckoning is covers for the side pockets. It could go both ways and an easy fix if I decide I want something like that.

Something I would appreciate on the Reckoning is a open bottomed sleeve behind the side pockets. It would add weight and cost, but for my specific situation (skis, axes, etc) it would be perfect. I don't imagine many would need this.

(small and large axes fit perfectly down the sleeve behind the pockets with the head sliding into the fabric pocket)

But there is a solution to this and the size issue (if O/N gear is needed). The Fulcrum!

Hopefully this gives more ideas on the size of the Reckoning for those considering it. It's a great pack and I'm really happy with it.
