I have the DT1 with Duplex frame, 2 medium and 2 small belt pouches, Longhunter lid, Grab-It, a small, med & lg pod, Gunbearer, a few meat sacks, several pullouts, 3 & 5 string compression sacks, and some UL dry bags. Without the pods my bag is like 8870ci. I call it my condo. But I used it for a couple of day hunts last weekend for the first time and yes, it is a good day pack. These were long days, creeping into the backcountry in the early morning and out in the late evening. I was battling steep, slick and muddy climbs in wind, rain, hail, thunder and lightning and was so grateful I had a comfortable pack on.

It takes a real masochistic effort to fill it up but I have. Took a bunch of snivel gear to prep for elk season.

Talk to Aron about your needs, he really knows his stuff and I am very happy with the pack options he recommended to me.

Shrek said it pretty good!

Most of your questions have been answered, but for the Gun Bearer- I carry my bow in it and it works amazingly well...like it was designed to be a Bow Bearer. Should be called a "Weapon Bearer."

Call Aaron. He'll take care of you, and when he posts "call me" he means it. He told me to call him and I did. I expected sortof a standard line about products and then I'm back to square one. Not so! Dude talked to me for like 40 minutes like we were old buds and he got me squared away.

Made the plunge. Instead of buying brand new, I followed the advice of many in this thread and bought a used one from the classifieds. Duplex Frame with Timberline 2 from an awesome member (RosinBag).

Here's What I got:

26" Duplex Frame in foliage, brand new black S/M belt with 26" composite flat back stays
Duplex Timberline 2 bag in Foliage
Chamber pocket in Foliage
Grab It in Foliage
Standard Lid in Foliage
Hunting XTL Lid in Foliage
Small belt pouch in Foliage
55' compression strap in Foliage with slotted female and adjustable male buckles

all for 575. Thoughts?

Also want to thank everyone here for the advice. It is very much appreciated

Nice score, Rosin gave that system away cheap! Just price it out new and then be super happy knowing it has full warranty on it.
