Most companies that make an insulated jacket use a microfiber shell. The Kifaru Parka uses the same material as our sleeping bags and that will offer 4x more tear and abrasion resistance.
The idea being that you can skip a layer using the Lost Park Parka as it works great as an outer layer.

It's slightly bulkier than a Kelvin.I understand the outer layer concept, but how thick and bulky is it as an insulating layer? Is it of similar thickness as a Sitka kelvin/kelvin light, or is it quite a bit bulkier and thicker?
