if you could touch on how much more durable this is vs a regular puffy/down jacket like the KUIU or even the other mountaineering offerings that would be awesome. I assume it is much better because it is Kifaru.... But for the nearly pound it weighs more than my KUIU I really want to make sure it is worth it. If is is really durable, I can leave the hard shell and just run this and save weight.

Most companies that make an insulated jacket use a microfiber shell. The Kifaru Parka uses the same material as our sleeping bags and that will offer 4x more tear and abrasion resistance.

The idea being that you can skip a layer using the Lost Park Parka as it works great as an outer layer.

Aron,
How does sizing run? I'm between a L & XL most of the time. Large in First Lite is great, XL in Sitka & Kuiu.

Thanks

I understand the outer layer concept, but how thick and bulky is it as an insulating layer? Is it of similar thickness as a Sitka kelvin/kelvin light, or is it quite a bit bulkier and thicker?

Did you watch the sizing video on the product page, or it was also posted above in the YouTube link? Aron and another guy were over 6' and both had on larges. If I were your size, after watching that video I would order a large.
