Kifaru Parka

I understand there will be biases, what would be the comparison to the FL Uncompagamathingie?

This was Aron's reply on kifaru forums:
" I think you know this, but I've been great friends with Kenton (owner of First Lite) for many years. I help him with the design of his clothing from time to time and we are building Kifaru packs in his pattern as well.

So to answer your question, the 3oz Apex insulation is a bit warmer than what you'll find in the FL jacket. The Kifaru Lost Park is also lighter weight and has better wind resistance (IMO). We are using stronger material for the forearm and stomach reinforcement, our is a pull over and the FL is a full zip.

The Kifaru hood can zip off, but the FL is sewn in and the collar on the Kifaru is slightly taller.

The FL Kangaroo pocket has a full wrap insulation while the Kifaru has better wind blocker on the outer layer but no insulation.

Both Jacket would be a great choice, but the Kifaru has an edge in durability and features, along with wind resistance as well."

3 oz Apex insulation

18.5 oz's finished weight (for the large)

Hey Aron, I'm not up on all the technical stuff when it comes to insulation layers, what type of warmth are we looking at? What's it compare to? Kuiu spindrift, FL puffy, sitka kelvin or kelvin lite? Thanks

It looks great, love the front pocket

Live2hunt, thanks... But all I could get from that is kifaru is going to make packs in Fusion?? Well damn... Where did that come from!

I would say it's warmer than the FL jacket and Kratos from Kryptek.

Not 100% sure in the Sitka stuff, but I'd guess (going off of my old Kelvin) it would be warmer than the Kelvin as well. The wind is blocked much better with the Kifaru more than any other I've seen in it's weight class.

Aron--any chance at Kifaru offering this in a tall?

Us long peeps are running out of options...not many folks making true tall sized items.
