Here's a couple pictures from previous scouting/backpacking trips. The tarp is a 8'X8' Oware Silnylon tarp, and the Tent is a Tarptent Double Rainbow. Locations are the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness (tarp) and the Teton Wilderness (tent).

We were using a Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2 and an REI Quarterdome tent. Or maybe a Half dome, not 100% sure on that one. I am sure the area looks familiar to some on this site.

Rode hard and hung up wet after two consecutive 15-mile days on my grand traverse of the Mt. Evans Wilderness in 2009. Kifaru Para Tarp/Annex. I lost some weight on that trip...weight I cannot afford to lose.

Probably my favorite...Patrick Smith and I in front of the very first prototype Sawtooth shelter...

Wow great pics guys, Ill play but i cant compete.
My first backcountry trip 90% of the gear i used was suggested by Aaron at some point in time. Behind the tent there a bowl in the river there where there were tons of trout schooled up. Going to have to bring some fishing line next time.

Awesome pictures folks... They are making me get the itch to go on a trip bad... Here's a couple of mine..

One of my first backpack hunts, close to 11,000' here in the Sierra's..Shelter is a cheap and heavy tent from Big 5 Sporting Goods.. I think it was $40...lol ..Also had an extra fly from a larger tent we left at home..

Not a tent, but a cool windbreak/kitchen I built...lol

Took an afternoon nap and woke up to some heavy breathing..Looked out side and found this Bull moose bedded about 40 yards away..

A nice water supply at that camp, this lake hangs on a cliff ledge..

I left my camp up and went home to re supply.. A storm came through and dumped about 18" of snow.. I wasn't able to get back up there until some melted... My symptoms from Trichinosis were hitting me on the hike in, it was brutal.. The Zoid1 has been a tough little shelter but I am wanting to try a floor less shelter this year, I like the idea of having a stove for heat if I choose...

Versatility of a tarp is what makes them so amazing!

Here's few pictures of the set-up of a tarp I own from Sportsman's Guide. I would love to have a Paratarp to add to my list of Kifaru gear! The tarp lets you change the configuration based on the varied conditions of the country you are camping/hunting in.

On the muzzleloading trip below I found a quick spot next to some logs during a snow storm. Did so well, I left it up for the week.

The 12' tarp can also work for a 2 person camp as shown in the trees right at timberline in Colorado with my wife on an overnight scouting trip.

And, the craziest thing I've done with my tarp - setting it up on a trip to Big Sur in California for a weekend..... my wife said she wanted to travel with carry on luggage for a quick fling with our friends. Can you imagine a camping trip with carry on luggage only?

Aron - I hope Fred shared his bigfoot stories with you in elk camp this past fall..... sure makes a guy think about things when you're out in the dark on a solo trip like I do so often!
