I gotta say Ive had some experience with both types of climashield. I quit sleeping bags after having the old slick bag & went to quits. Froze my butt off in a 20* slick bag @ about 35* & sold it. I now have a ee10* quilt that I will be trying out this fall & or winter, but Ive had a mountain laurel designs spirit quilt 38* for about a year now & it has the climashield apex insul. Anyways. my spirit quilt is definitely true to the rating if not warmer. I think I could take it down to freezing & sleep comfy. If I were in the market for another synthetic fill bag I would likely give the new slicks another shot.
