Kifaru muskeg and 2019 packs

So I'm currently running a Stone glacier 3300. Love the pack but I have a short torso and the frame sticks up past my ears which isn't a deal breaker but is somewhat annoying. The other issue I have with it is the hyrdation options. I hate using bladders and I've found the hydro holster to be extremely annoying. The water sloshes so much and if I tighten the holster to make it ride more vertical it then limits how much I can loosen my shoulder strap. I've ran kifaru in the past and got away from them because I couldn't find a bag I love. (I don't like having to add a bunch of pockets.) I want a pack that has one or two built in pockets. Yet remaining simple. The solo was good for that, as Is the mystery ranch selway. The kifaru 2800 muskeg is pretty spot on as well. I'm just not a huge fan of the gold looking coyote x pac. So that leads me to my questions.
1. Does anyone know of kifaru is releasing any NEW pack bags here soon?
2. Was there any talk of adding more colors to the muskeg line?
3. Is the 2800 cubic inch rating of the small muskeg the rating when using the snow collar as a lid or fully open?
I've found that I can do a week out of my solo 3300 my adding the sky lid so of the muskeg is actually bigger when the snow collar is up then I could do the same thing by adding a guide lid. Any help would be appreciated!

You may consider looking for a used Timberline 3 (internal frame) or Duplex Timberline 2 or 3 (needs external frame). Someone just posted a DT2 for sale. It has great built in pockets. The DT2 is what I have been using a the last several years and it's a great pack for everything I need from it. 5200 CI though. The 3 will be smaller, but they are harder to find.

I'm not super interested in the exo packs and I had a dt1 at one time looking for something more streamlined I wish they would come out with an all ranger green muskeg or make it out of all cordura

I used to run an SG R3. Loved the pack and it hauled meat well but as wth you I am short torsoed and short anyway and it stuck above my head and was pretty annoying. Once you get weight in it the pack shines though. I’m using a 24” kifaru lite frame with a woodsman now. It’s not perfect but it’s close and fits way better .

I like the size and center zip of the woodsman but just wish it had built in pockets. I also ran an argali for a while and also had to reconnect the three bar sliders when the pack was cinched down in day mode

Just spoke with a guy from kifaru. No plans to add colors to the muskeg line and the only bags they will be releasing this year will be bigger bags thanks for the info guys. If anyone has a dt2 or dt3 or high camp in foliage shoot me a pm

Why not use a kifaru frame and put a kuiu 5200 bag on it? Plenty of pockets, some of which you could simply not use.

I actually tried that a long time ago and didn't care for it. Now I'm switching gears and looking to pay top dollar for a ranger green tahr then I'll make some mods.

It appears you are prizing 'form over function', why steer away from a layout based on colour? It really should matter not a jot what colour your pack is.........hunting is not a fashion show.

Please don't take that as a jab or troll, but as something I would happily say to friends in conversation.

Well I've actually been running huge mixtures on my packs for a while I've never owned a pack that has even close to matching colors and I've never owned one in ranger green which is why I'm looking for one.

Like I said I want something streamlined so nothing with tons of pockets but a simple one or two. Sorry but all the pictures of the muskeg make it look extremely shiny. This is coming from a guy who hunts in a lot of solids so I don't give a rats ass about camo or cosmetics but sheen? Heck yeah.
I was thinking about a woodsman but don't like how the straps run all the way around and snap in the front and you can't put belt pouches over the zipper when compressed (no pals matrix there) I owned an argali and really liked it but it was too big for me. Hence the reason I'm looking for a tahr (or highcamp as previously stated) So as you can see from my long winded post that this decision is extremely a form of function not a fashion show or anything. I guess besides wanting to try ranger green

They just released a new pack at the sheep show called the hoodlum I believe it has a zippered pocket on each the side for spotting scopes etc. maybe that one will work for you although it is quite a big larger than what your currently running at 6500 ci

As for the color on the xpac material I’d say it’s much closer to coyote brown than gold ( to my eyes anyway) It has a slight sheen to it but not much Here a pic of it with ranger green on the antero. Hope his helps!

I know a lot of guys use the kifaru buckles and are putting the exo packs on the kifaru frames with no issues. They seem to have a good amount of pockets and pouches. Everyone I’ve talked to about them say that exo has the market with pack layout etc.......maybe something like that. I don’t run a spotter and keep it pretty basic so I’m pretty much no help on this one.
