Kifaru Made in America?

So I was just checking out the website under the heading "About"

It claims everything is made in America. Then I saw where it said "material sourced in America, where possible".

That's a red herring for me. For so long I believed Kifaru was 100% sourced and made in USA.

Are there any 100 percent sourced and Made in America packs out there?

One of the new packs uses a material that is not made in USA, by anyone.

Edit: at release they went into detail about choosing the fabric and knowing it was not Made in the US of A.

Sad fact is the vast majority of quality UL fabrics aren't made in any American textile mill.

My wife and I are exploring with working Arizona sourced cotton blended in with merino. The only way we are getting the merino quality we are after is importing from New Zealand.

What micron is it you are after?

Is it the quantity that's the problem?

With most of the mills closing in the states, it can be harder to source, but the premium wool producers are selling direct in a lot of situations.

We are trying several different options. Not a quantity problem but a quality problem.

I don't know about Kifaru, but Steve from Exo has spoken about this a few times on their podcast.

Basically, he has said that they try to use American made materials. In some cases, the product is either not domestically produced or is inferior to something else. The example I recall is a luggage zipper that they use on their non-Berry compliant packs.

I would rather purchase the superior product. We live in a global economy, it's a fact of being a consumer. As a consumer, I try to buy American where I can but I have no illusions that is limited.

Produce and food, I'm not buying anything from outside North America. Backpacks, give me the best one.
