Interested to see this thread pop up. I was very disappointed when my Kifaru pack was way over spec, but kept it because I had waited many months for it to ship and needed it. I do like the pack but actually dislike being associated with the brand. To see that the advertised weight is with small belt, small straps, and the discontinued carbon piece is absolutely dishonest and false advertising. That's like advertising the weight of a pair of men's shoes for a size 6 with no laces or insoles. Now it looks like they removed the weight altogether, so surely they recognize how bad that is. I'll keep the pack as long as it works for me I guess, but that kind of dishonesty is a dealbreaker for me going forward when spending that much money.
