Hey guys curious on opinions. I’m looking at getting a woodsman kifaru bag and have been looking at the frame options. I would be day hunting possible overnight and packing some random objects occasionally tree stand, pop up blind, mineral block etc.

I got a tactical with a Nomad 2 and Grab It for similar use. A dry bag of spare clothes or camp gear fits between the wings when I need it to. It worked as my daypack and packed moose quarters very well in AK. I do a lot of my hunting with an Exo 3500 but for real awkward loads or meat hauling this set-up is nice. I like that I can put water bottles and emergency gear in the batwings for packing meat and not deal with water bottle pockets or bladders. Packs meat well while having a place for that stuff built in.

I sometimes add a Guide lid for extra gear but mostly leave it off. It's just more straps to mess with a lot of the time and unnecessary.

I went back and forth on them for a while. Had the advantage of being able to try them both on at Kifaru. The tactical fit me better. I’m a slender guy so all of the padding is welcome.

I really like the tactical frame. It’s a bit heavier but it does an awesome job hauling heavier stuff.

I’ve got a duplex tactical with a nomad 2 and grab it 2. I don’t see how the lite could be much more comfortable when hauling my day pack pack weight. And I don’t see how it could be more comfortable when hauling super heavy/awkward loads. 1 pound isn’t going to make me or break me. I think the benefits when loaded outweigh the benefits of being unloaded. YMMV.
