Nice review James....

For clarity that was a Longhunter Lid, not the XTL (or the XLT as stated)

Can't agree more though, best pack made.

I know Doug, I mentioned that to Aron before I posted it that I spoke wrong about the lid... as its a Longhunter, my bad... I fiqured someone would call me out on it lol!!!

The no skid on the lumbar pad which I believe is a Hypalon material is key, it really keeps the pack settled on your back and you wont get that annoying/dangerous load shifting because of the lack of slipage...

Nice work James! The DT1 is a true workhorse of a pack!! Love em!

What model of Slik tripod are you running there?

SHTF.,double check but I thought they all had it on the Duplex. If not call Kifaru and you can get a new lumbar pad.

For those that haven't had theirs long enough, the lumbar pad can wear out in a sense over a few years. The pad actually can compress down over several years and therefore make it able to slide down. It is a part that can be ordered they Kifaru if you need to replace.

The patch on the lumber pad is standard I believe, so if for some reason your pack shipped without it I would call Kifaru and see if they could sew one on for you.

If ever your good-fitting and well used Kifaru pack starts to give you saddle sores, I would look at replacing the pad. It in essence just slips into a sleeve, so it is really easy to replace.

Craig 4791.... I did a review of the Slik Tripod and Outdoorsman Pan head as well. Keep you eyes out as I will post it up next! Hard to beat.....

Right on ! I'll be looking out for it. I've been eying an outdoorsmans pan head for a while just need to pick a tripod.

First off...NICE FN BEAR!!!!! WoooHooo!!!! My DT1 is a month away from shipping but I have read the seams leak in real rain, you experience this? Debating whether to have a raincover made for it as i will be hunting in very wet conditions and have needed a cover in the past. A saturated pack gains weight and requires more internal bagging, a rain fly prevents this. I'm sure you hit some weather up there, whaddaya think? Would a waterproofing spray be worth considering?
