Kifaru Bikini Frame?

Nothing comes from Kifaru without A LOT of testing, so I hope everyone can understand.

Sorry for the delay!

I came up with this idea using Kydex for a frame sheet. It was about $10 in materials and took me about 20 minutes to make. I used .80 Kydex and two aluminum 3/16 screw posts. It weighs in at about 3oz. It is a clam shell design so there are no attachment points to the frame itself and stays firmly in place because it is molded to the frame. I hope the attached photos turn out (I haven’t figured out how to post full pictures yet). I will post an update when I get a chance to test it out further.

Excellent idea. I used to use kydex by the pallet load when I made knife sheaths. Very easy to work with and very strong.

No timeframe, no price and no photos yet. We are working on this are hoping the end result will come out soon. Seriously, are prototype testing now!

Please be patient and bare with us. We are trying to come out with not just a simple "fix" add-on, but a true viable piece of equipment that will withstand the wear and tear as all of the rest of our gear.

Last I heard it was still in "prototype" I know they don't want to just throw something half assed out for sale. I am sure one of the guys will chime in and let you know

Unlike some companies they never release a date until they have tested said product for 100% reliability so don't expect an eta, this was more of a heads up they are testing (guessing the huge military order that put the new tents on hold also effected this) but you might want to play with your own design. You may find something that works great and may not need to upgrade once it is released.

The new ones have it installed, got mine last week and it has the plate in back of the lumbar support. While I have nothing to compare to as this is my Kifaru set up, I have no complaints about to .

My bikini frame came with the plastic sheet in the lumbar pad. If you specify in the notes they will cut one for you and include it. I took mine out right away. It was loud and made creeking sounds during movement like walking or twisting your torso. Maybe I just need to break it in a little. Frame is very very nice otherwise.

For I have no idea on that, I talked to aron prior to ordering mine couple of months ago and and he told me to mention it in the comments about it and should be ready by the time my order was filled.

Have any of you guys had issues with the power pulls on the Bikini belt? My T2 works perfectly but the Bikini gives me issues. I thought I saw other guys having same issue but can not seem to find it. I got one of the very first ones.....is this a common issue or just me?
