Anyone done it?

I have not done that particular one, however I have put a Kifaru belt on an Eberlestock. Made a huge difference. I'm also ordering up a Barneys frame and after trying it out, I may see what needs to be done to put a duplex belt on it.

thanks for starting this thread. im going to try this myself. thinking about the padded Omni belt i don't carry real heavy loads and don't like thick stiff belts. now back to my usual lurking.

I'd like to hear more about putting a Kifaru Bag on a Krux Frame as well. I love my Krux Frame but would really like the features of the Mountain Rambler bag. Any word?

I did this - something similar. I took the best belt I could find (I believe it was an Osprey), made the straps with grommets, had them sewn to the belt at a boot shop and it worked perfectly. Hauled multiple animals that way until I bought a Kifaru T2. The Barney's pack is tuff as nails and the belt sucks. The worst belt on the market by a wiiiiiiide margin. Looks like a over stuffed pillow in belt size ;-)

I have no doubt you can do with another belt. Once you get the Barney's you will see how easy it really is.

Was this ever confirmed? Does the Kifaru Duplex belt fit on the Krux frame?

Old thread, but curious if anyone has done this. If so, photos and details on what it took to accomplish the task would be great.

The Krux frame has wings on it that would have to be cut off in order for the frame to slip into the pocket of the K belt. The lower half of the shoulder straps anchor to these wings, but the K belt comes with the same straps, so that evens out.

The Duplex frame is 8" across the bottom, the SG frame is 8-1/2" maybe 8-3/4" without the wings, so the pocket on the K belt might have to be slightly modified, I'm not cutting them off just to see if it will slide on, but it might and it might not, it's close.

The retention straps for the lumbar pad on the K belt would need to be anchored, Kifaru has a grommet there with Velcro on the opposite side, something similar would have to be done for the Krux frame. In roughly the same spots the grommets would go on the Krux frame, there is no frame, just fabric, so it's a good possibility it would work exactly the same way Kifaru does it, just get a nail hot and burn a hole in each spot them put a grommet in. Then glue some Velcro strips on the other side.

Kifaru bags will go on a Krux frame, but SG bags will not go on a Duplex.

Oh one more thing, on my Duplex the pocket/lumbar pad is sewn to the frame, I don't know the method of attachment to a stand alone belt.

Edit: After looking at the picture of the belt on the Kifaru website, it looks like it doesn't come with the lumbar pad.
