Kifaru AMR, EMR2?

My hunting partner runs an AMR and I think he was a bit jealous of my bag with side access whenever we stopped to eat lunch or fill water. He had to dig through his from the top a bit. Otherwise its built like a tank but still compresses down really nicely when hunting. It is also big enough you probably won't need to spend any extra on a guide lid. And the rear pockets are placed nicely. I haven't used an EMR II but it looks like it has an extra horizontal strap for getting quarters secured. It looks bulky as hell though with those side pockets (which you may end up needing for 14 days).

I have been looking at these options myself, and still don't have a kifaru bag or frame. I must have watched the EMR videos a dozen times....LOL. But now that the reckoning has come out, and after watching a few videos on it, I think it will be my choice if I had to pick something from their current line up. Prior to the reckoning pack...I had pretty much decided on the EMR2, but also realized that it might be 'strappy" at times, and maybe a bit more than I need for a lower 48 bag.

I just watched a hunting show where the Hunter strapped a whole bear to his kifaru and I thought I have got to get me one of those

Yeah I filmed that hunt, haha. Troy is a beast and that was the EMR 2. Used 2 of the 3 horizontal straps and it never moved from when we got him stood up to when we got to the raft.

Here is me with my wife's 22 Mag and 190 pounds of bear. The pack did better than I did:) Kifaru's are stout! But once you have that center zip, all other bags suck. EMR all the way.

Hey, Bears fit in the AMR too!! Here is an entire Alaskan bear in one. Love my AMR!

The EMR II is a beast! You can load it up for a week plus and still suck it down for day hunts. It'll even work for Western farm hunting when you might need to get a deer out of a coulee. Compress it down with a few items then open it up to fit a deer.
