Just ordered a DT1 with the new frame and am looking forward to picking it up when the frame comes in. Was curious what accessories you guys use with your DT1's and for what (pockets, pouches, etc). I plan on getting a Gun Bearer and will probably be attaching my MOLLE universal holster for my P227, but I think I will want some sort of belt pouch as well as maybe a gps pouch for my InReach.

Medium belt pouch on right side of belt. Mini belt pouch and nalgene bottle pocket on left side of belt.

Grab-it is mandatory for any Kifaru pack in my opinion.

Medium belt pouches on the lower sides of the pack. Large belt pouches are another option.

I personally don't like pouches on my belt but I use the gun bearer and a Grab It . Between my pants cargo pockets and the FHF binocular pouch with rangefinder and gps hanging on the harness I just don't need pockets on my pack belt and I swing my arms when I walk and in the right conditions the pockets I had would rub my arms. I had the Longhunter lid and that's all I needed to get it done. Between the pockets on the front of the bag and the lid with two small pullouts in it I had more than enough places to loose small things.

Oh , congratulations on the new rig. I think you will really like the DT1. The open top pockets for a spotter and tripod are great and being able to just stuff a sit of jacket into the other one is nice. When I was ordering my DT1 the open pockets on the side is what I had the most reservation about but they turned out to be my favorite feature.

I put two small pouches on the belt, two medium pouches on the pack, some Gen II meat sacks, various pullouts in different sizes, 3 & 5 string compression sacks, Gunbearer, Longhunter lid, Grab-it w/ lash kit, a raincover (not Kifaru) and 3 pods (sm, med, & lg) and a 55l dry sack. It's a condo.

Thanks Shrek, I am excited and only wish the new frames were ready for my trip to MT Friday; Aron tried but just wasn't possible. I guess I'm stuck pushing through the pain of my pack from the company that will remain nameless to avoid another Shrek hornets nest situation. It's a good enough pack for my needs, but after Aron was good enough to try and help me figure out what was causing pressure on the front of my shoulder and he pointed out that the lifter glides couldn't be adjusted forward enough to account for my height.

I don't ever hunt with a tripod/spotter as the areas I currently hunt are too small for anything beyond binos, but I do carry a Walkstool so it should work great for that. My main use for now is backpack fishing trips to high country lakes.

I have the belt pouches on my 7200 right now and they don't really bug me, but they are quite small and from what I can tell by the video the small Kifaru pouch is a little bit bigger. I am thinking about a small pouch on the left and a mini on the right next to my holster with the Nalgene on the side of the pack where I can still reach back and get it. In a hunting setup I would move it to the left, put the GB on the right and move the holster to drop leg. I am debating a small pod as an expansion for when I need more room, or possibly a large pocket to throw on the lid. I think I will leave those decisions as well as a decision on pullouts until after a few trips so I get a better feel of how I will use it.

The thing I am confused about is the Grab-it. rhunter says it's necessary; you and Bruce both have it on your list as well. I just don't think I'd ever use it for anything more than bag compression. Rarely is there anything I have that is too wet to go inside my bag because the whether simply isn't that wet here. Am I missing something?

I will say just grab a couple pullouts because they are damn useful, one mediu and one large that way you can get a feel for the size and figure out what fits into which size.

As far as the grab it. I have one and have never used it while a pack bag is on the frame. I don't carry a raft like Luke does and I honestly cannot think of anything else I'd use it for.

I have used it to carry a big ass bag of duck decoys with just the frame though.

Same here. I took mine off and will only attach it when I carry my raft.

Actually you don't even need it for that. The sleeping bag compartment straps will secure your raft just fine!!!

How ya liking the packraft thus far btw? Lets see some pics of it in action. Love seeing packraft pics!

Only used it twice on lakes to see how it handled in the wind. Was alone so no pics yet but once I take it out on a real trek will get some.

Don't need it for my raft as it's smaller than both my tent and sleeping bag.

Have only gotten to use it once so far; definitely won't handle the weather like you guy's, but since I am fishing if it's not relatively calm you can't really fish anyways without some sort of anchor. Going to be using it more this weekend up in MT, so I will have some pictures next week. My buddy has pics of me using it last weekend, but he hasn't sent them to me yet; caught the biggest Brookie I've ever caught (12" or so) while I was out on it though.
