Take a half pound less of food or water and quit complaining! Or man up and carry 46 instead of 45.

I didn't order one but it's more about the principal behind it. It was stated in the videos online and listed on kifarus site at around 2.6 pounds. For a bunch of people to place orders and find out afterwards that it weighs quite a bit more is pretty ridiculous.

I agree. A lot of these guys act as though they're glad Kifaru can't get their specs right. It's always "man up" and "can't you carry a few more ounces?" That's not the point. It's literally false advertising. I love Kifaru's products, and constantly rave about their designs, quality, and comfort. But now I own a frame AND a bag that are over spec in weight. The weight and price are both incorrect in the "release video." None of this is difficult to avoid, and I've never seen other companies have this problem.

I just thought pointing it out might make a bit more informed decision for someone else. I took flak on here when I mentioned that my Duplex "Lite" frame was 5 oz heavier than claimed weight. All of a sudden, I have basically a pound more pack than I thought I did. Lots of guys go with other brands for a pound or less difference for a given frame/bag combo. Just sayin' it wouldn't hurt to be a bit more diligent with a high end product.

It definitely read 2.85 pounds. Thats super disappointing. I chose to go this route because of the weight, when what I really needed/wanted was a smaller day pack. But figured if I could get a full size bag for under 3 pounds, I'd go for it. It's not a case of manning up. I already have an equivalent bag, I made the choice to go this route to save weight. Now I'm reading that I spent $700 to weigh the same? I know ounces are expensive, but that's just stupid.

The new weight is almost 25% heavier then the orginal weight. Thats not a small oops.

I expected better from Kifaru, I'm actually a bit pissed off.

I’ll be back in Denver tomorrow and double check the weight. If there’s an issue I’ll have customer service credit your card back.

Well it sounds like Aron and Kifaru are ready to do the right thing if it means that much to you which is commendable. For me I'm going to wait until i get mine and put it on the scale. There are other things I consider as much as weight alone.

For the record they say the mountain warrior weighs 45 oz. Mine with out the lid or chamber pocket it comes with weights 50.44 oz which is 5 oz heavier. They say the AMR weighs 52 oz and mine bag only weighs 42.15 oz which is 10 oz less. Maybe they didn't update the website after they added the 3rd compression strap to the mountain warrior.

Would i like to see the weights closer. Sure. Is it deal breaker. Not at all. I'm prepared to carry slightly more weight for what I want in a bag and what fits me in a frame.

The responses you've gotten from most people have absolutely nothing to do with your irritation with Kifaru. However, when offered to have your frame replaced, you refused. But, now act as if you were duped. The man offered to refund your card too concerning this bag. Little surprise seeing how he handled the frame situation. So, pick a choice and go with it. But, the poor me routine in circumstances where you've been offered retribution, goes against your intended purpose with this post.

I have zero issue with you or anyone else in this thread. I've never met or talked to anyone here. I'm just pointing out reality. Have a good day men

Excited to see the 44 mag option come to the market. Exactly what I envisioned I needed. Now I need to make room and move out the Fulcrum and Frame that never left the shop.

Expecting a company to post accurate information isn't "poor me." Just because my frame was over weight, that means I should EXPECT my bag to be overweight? Nobody said "duped", but it is literally bait and switch. I decided to keep my frame because the design and comfort were superb. Maybe I do the same with the bag. But it certainly doesn't hurt to point out that the specs are off for guys who may have largely made a purchase decision based on weight. What's wrong with being informed?

Nothing wrong with guys being informed at all. I would prefer if this just stopped for now and let me figure out what’s what when I get back. I won’t deny that I need to get better at getting exact weights before releasing “pre buzz” videos and I take full responsibility for that. I get excited to let people know what’s coming out and weight isn’t a high priority for me and I need to change that.

Again, if the weight of the pack isn’t correct I have no issues with crediting anyone back their money.

WV Mountaineer, I somehow managed to delete one of your posts on accident. You were defending Kifaru, so I’m not sure why I did that LOL. My apologies

I like this pack a lot. I can see this in my future if I can ever get down to a handful of packs again.

Aron and co are top shelf, I have no doubt they will make things right if there was an error.

Think this on 22" frame would fit as a carry on if it's compressed down a bit? I'd rather have this over the shape charge for the extra room, but worried about it being too big to fly with. I can't find anything else in the market that even compares ; I had a mystery ranch 3DAP, but didn't like the color options screaming" military ". I mean, I am, but I don't want to carry a bag that says as much, I prefer black or the ranger green.
I also have the tarryall in ranger green that I'd like to replace with this if it works out... I'd prefer a bigger main pocket, without the stuff pocket the tarryall has.

I’ll try and get a photo of it on the 22” frame on my back this week. It’ll hang down past the bottom of the frame, so it will be your decision if it’s acceptable or not.

I would take bombproof over ultralight any day. That said there has to be a plus or minus with these man-made products. These bags aren't coming from a machine shop, for how many pieces are cut and sewn together for this bag all it would take would a cm of extra fabric here or there to add up to that extra 5 oz. Can yall really tell if there is an extra 5 oz on your back?
