I really do appreciate the information. I've done a ton of research on these packs. Thank you for your swift reply. Purchased.I've posted quite a bit about this bag. Nothing bad to say about it, other than it's a bit heavy. I love the layout and the pocket access is amazing. It will swallow way more gear than you think. It's that bag that just always seems full. I do a day trip, seems full. Then the last two years, I've done 10 day hunts in it (September), and everything JUST fits. And thats with zero added pockets. Now that's versatile for a 4800 C.I. pack!
It's packed out all four of my elk the last 2 years with perfect function. If I was doing several days on a deer hunt and knew I would want to pack out a whole deer boned-out, all my gear, optics, etc., in one trip, I'd probably take my old DT1, but about every other type of trip I do, the 44 mag gets the nod.
I have nothing bad to say about the 44 Mag either. Although, keep in mind not everyone’s 10 day load out is the same. It also changes depending on how early or late in the season your trip is. I’m a pretty minimal packer but don’t think I could do 10 days from the 44 Mag. Give it a try and resale if you don’t like it. I am sure you will.I really do appreciate the information.
