I’m curious if anyone can post up some pictures of their 44 mags compressed down for day hunting. I have been going back and forth on what pack to go with. I just sold a stone glacier solo, as I wanted slightly bigger but I did really like how it compressed down for day hunting after packing in to set up camp. I have Been wrestling between an exo and kifaru, and really want to go with the 44 mag because of the ability to organize gear with the pockets built in. So does anyone have any pics of their pack compressed down for a day pack, or any feedback on its ability to do so? I’ve read a ton of different posts here, just not a lot about this particular topic. Thanks.

A couple pics of me in he field with it for the day. The pack has food, optics, layers, etc. Typical 25 ish pound load for the day. Last pic is fully compressed if you can look past the Sherman pocket and the tree stand seats.
the pack empty will completely compress flat. But those are typical “day use” pics.

The 44 mag is my favorite bag. It compresses down really well and the layout is money.

Here are a few pictures from this past season in day pack mode.

Thanks for the pictures. This pack looks like what I’m looking for. Internal pockets are something that I really want and are surprisingly hard to find on a quality pack.

I have a 357 Mag (smaller, internal frame version). I agree the layout of that bag is great!
I already have a Reckoning for my bigger bag needs, but the Ma Deuce has the same layout as the 357 & 44 Mag, and would be perfect.

I was really hoping the 357 mag wouldn't have been internal frame. I don't like packing meat in the bag. It would have been the perfect size day pack for early season all the way through late season.

Its hard to beat the clamshell design in my opinion. I have a shape charge and that's why I decided to get the 44 mag.

I don’t have 44 mag, but I have the Stryker and Woodsman and love both pack. You can go wrong with Kifaru. USA made 100%

I use mine as a day pack as I want the extra room for packouts. I do not compress it fully as I still keep layers of clothes and snacks hydration in the pack and like to get into the pack easily. This is a pick of my pack on me before the packout.

Ive got a SG 5900 which i love but picked up a 44 mag which i really like too. Havent had the joy of hauling out an animal with it yet but here is a pic of it compressed for a day trip in nov. I added two compression straps to it.

If I already owned a Duplex frame at the time I purchased the 357 I probably would have just bought the 44 Mag. I'm not sure how close in size they are when filled with gear, but one video Aron did, he mentions the 44 and 357 are fairly close.

The Ma Deuce would be a great "Big bag"...but the Reckoning is big enough for me for multi-day use.

I agree with you. I think the clamshell designs are ideal.

Been great. Can put ten days of supplies in it, or run it as my day pack. It compresses smaller than a badlands 2200. Carried two bulls out with it this year. Strapped the meat to the outside of the pack. Don't think you can go wrong with picking one up.

Is that the small or medium belt pouch above your Sherman pocket?

I use a mini belt pouch and water bottle holder on the belt, and a small belt pouch and organizer pocket on the back. I have the guide lid, but think the Bane would also be a good option for a lid. It does get smaller than my badlands 2200, but it is heavy as far as daypacks go. I love it though. I find excuses just to take it hiking or hunting, and it's bombproof.
