Kifaru 22Mag on 24" frame with Gun Cradle mod

Picked up a Kifaru 22mag for PRS field matches and was looking for a way to carry a rifle on the pack. Decided I would try to come up with a solution.







Ordered a gun cradle and K-clips then did a little modifying to get it to work.









Added a medium hip pocket to the bottom of the 22mag to take up the extra room from the 24" frame. The medium pocket fits my Chugach rain coat perfectly.


The cradle stows nicely in between the pack and pocket when not in use.



Loaded with spotting scope and tripod



Thought the 24" frame might be an issue on the Mag22 but that proved not to be the case.

Have not had a chance to test it out thoroughly but so far so good.

How does the rifle come out the top of the pack? Does this bag not go over the top of the frame like an AMR?

Just undo the 3 horizontal clips and pull out the top. It does go over the same as the AMR but I just undo the top portion to use the expanded load shelf as shown in this video . Also I added a third strap to help secure the load and tripod.
