Kibler Hawken kit now available for order

It is live! Check it out if you're a Hawken fan. This is the nicest and likely most accurate Hawken kit ever available that is not a direct copy of a particular gun. Pricey, but definitely would be well worth it. However, the 54 would be 8lbs. You might want to add some lead somewhere if you order the 58.

The toe plate, trigger plate, and entry pipe finials are very nice touches for authenticity and make this one different than other kits.

I too ordered a plain Jane version in 54. I already have two woodsrunners and a colonial, and have really been looking forward to this one.

I would like to know which barrel mfg is which caliber. He apparently is supplied by GM, colerain, and rice, and the mfg he uses just depends on availability.

I know he rifles at least some of the barrels... I don't know if it's all of them or just some. So if he has mixed mfg barrels I'm wondering if the land/groove geometry is different on a given caliber from time to time or if it always the same if he is rifling everything.

I'd like to order a 58 when I have the money... But I'd really prefer it to be a GM if the rifling matches theirs. I absolutely don't want another colerain round groove 58. Those grooves are so deep it takes a really tight load to adequately seal the grooves.

Probably. I'll wait to bother them with a call until I'm actually ready to order.

But as a general PSA, if anyone is picky about such things it might be worthwhile to figure it out before ordering. As a counter point, I don't think I've ever seen a picture of a Kibler barrel with rounds grooves and I've never heard of one not being a shooter.

My Colonial is a 58, and is definitely a Green Mountain barrel. I hadn’t paid much attention to the depth of the grooves, but it shoots 570 ball well, and 58 Minies acceptably. I imagine the Hawken will be the same. Hopefully, once he starts delivering guns, I’ll be able to order a replacement barrel in 58 to go with it.

Thats a fact. Its why ive got a TVM kit and a pecatonica river kit.

Correction to these two points. Kibler doesn't rifle any of his barrels. He had videos of his CNC machines rifling barrels and I thought he stated they were doing so for their kits. Not sure if he abandoned that project or what but he confirmed they're not doing any internal barrel mods.

All rifle grooves will be square regardless of supplier.

I ask them this very question and the response was they couldn’t guarantee it but would consider it if you make a note on your order.

I saw him mention in another forum that they could do this but would have to change their policy if it becomes an issue.

I've sent Track of the Wolf a very nice 54 caliber Hawken I had built by Jim Trueblood about 20 years ago. They should be listing it shortly. Not sure how much the kits are but if you just want to buy a quality Hawken without doing the kit work, it may be worth a look. It was a Pecatonica kit with a Green Mountain barrel. We are still deciding pricing but it will be listed soon.

Selling it as I switched to lefthanded only rifle shooting and have a lefthanded Hawken now. This one being sold is righthanded.

Awesome. What left handed Hawken did you get? A custom build or kit?

Kibler Hawken kit is 1500-2000 depending on options selected. Pricey, but if you're familiar with that type of gun and kit quality and costs, that's actually a pretty good deal.

I always struggle with photos on here. It has upgraded wood and a very nice browned metal finish. It shoots the traditional .530 roundball and .015 patch load with 100 grains of swiss very well. I didn't take many pics since I am having them market it. Took mule deer, whitetails and antelope with this one.

The lefthanded rifle in the pic on the fence is my 58. It was built using GRRW components mostly and is a fine shooter as well. It's killed mule deer and whitetail so far. Have had it a few years now and am very attached to it.
