I like having a temporary hook on my keychaing for various things but had problems recently. The last thing I want is something bulky. I have carried one of the S hook key connector / carabiner fon my keychain or years. Like this one...

I only occasionally used it to hook my wifes keychain to mine. Every once in a while I lost the S-hook but never with something hooked onto it UNTIL, I started a new job and was using every day for my work keyfob and digital signature usb. I would cary those two around at work all day, then hook it to my keys at the EOD. One weekend my work keyfob and digital signature disappeared. It was a pain to get replaced and I don't want to go through that again.

What have you used to hook 2 keyrings together that is 100% reliable. I do not want bulky/large, but weight doesn't really matter. These are the two things I am trying to hook together...

They just need to stay together always, except when I have them appart at the office for 9 hrs a day.

@Vaultman I use the Nite Ize SlideLock KeyRack for this purpose. Take off the key/set of keys/FOB you need for that moment or moment ahead so you don’t have to have your full key kit with you all the time.

The regular Nite Ize S-Biners are nice, but they have a frustratingly fatal flaw which it sounds like you discovered, particularly with keys on key rings. The key ring frequently slips right out of the biner gate, and with silent ease! It’s simply not secure enough for my own comfort.

Before they came out with the SlideLock stuff I used the KeyRack for a bit and it was disappointing how it couldn’t do “it’s one job.” The SlideLock and locking micro biners are an improvement. Can’t say perfect, but exponentially better. The little locking mechanism on the micro locking S’s will break over time, but years not months.

They also make a two-sided magnetic keychain, but I’ve not tried it to be able to share any pros/cons.

I've carried my work keys on a Nite Ize G-Series for probably 5 years without issue. Take them on and off several times a day.
