These are two boots I have compared recently. After hearing so much about them I really wanted the Crispi’s to fit me but they just didn’t work out. They were a bit too wide and I had to size up to a 14 as my toes were touching the end of a 13. This made the width fit even wider. I do have a narrow foot so that factored in. I found the Kenetrek Narrow to actually be too narrow, even with just a mid weight sock. I’ve decided to keep the Kenetrek in regular width and have returned everything else I tried.

I thought my well broken in Danner Hood Winter Lights were comfortable. But they don’t even come close to either of these boots.

The crispi’s fit very comfortable. I found that mine had to get some miles out on them before they were comfortable wearing while hiking on step terrain.

I have only tried both on Mtn extremes and Thors. Just on first impressions Crispi felt really good, extremely comfortable. The Mtn extremes are a whole other boot that needs to be broke in, they have a big rocking midsole that is aggressive for steep terrain, probably more durable. Then Schnees had a 4th of July sale and I bought the discontinued Granite II. It feels great as well.

I have a set of kenetrek mountain extremes and crispi Idaho and Thor so not exactly the same class of boots. My feet are 12-13 Depending on the shoe and wide EEE+ With a narrow heel.

My Kenny’s fit fine. 13w is Wide enough with a superfood green insole. The mountain extreme is a serious cold weather boot. Insulated. Heavy. Lots of support. My crispi fit much better for me. Wider in the forefoot and heel feels fairly tight. The Idaho’s are fine. I would have gotten the low top version if I did it again. The Thor’s have become a favorite backpacking boot with some 5-7 day trips on them. A mid weight hiker with a stiff sole.

Comparing the two brands, allowing for the fact that they are very different boot models, I would say the crispi is more wide and overall more comfortable for me. The Kenny’s are great bots but based on comfort alone, I will be staying with Crispi. +1 for black ovis for buying crispi and I think they stock kenetrek too.
