Just bought my first pair of Mountain Extremes.
Been using Obenauf’s for years but tag on boot said “No Heat & No Oils.”
Recommend only Kenetrek Boot Wax.

Is Obenauf’s okay to use on these boots?

I was told the oil will get between the rubber Rand and the leather and cause it to peal. No first hand experience but it makes sense to me.

I’m on my second pair of Kenetreks and have only used their wax. So can’t say what other wax would do. Long lasting good boots

Think of it this way: it's cheap to use Kenetrek's wax - and expensive if you make a mistake with someone else's.

I have 3 pairs of Kennetrek boots and use their wax , never have any problem at all.
