Kenetrek Reconditioning

Have some Mountain Extremes I've used heavily for upland hunting the last 6-7 years, thinking they could use a little repair. They aren't in real rough shape (no toes poking through or soles falling off) but it did seem as though my feet would often be damp after hunts last fall when in wet grass or snow. For those that have done it, were you satisfied with the benefit vs. the cost ($175)?

Assuming your conditioning them and still getting damp feet I'd send them in. You'll get essentially a new pair for half price

As far as "reconditioning " from what I understand it is new soles and insoles. Nothing to do with windtex waterproofing?i could be wrong that's just how i understood it?

Kenetrek's reconditioning program is great! They will basically make your boots brand new. After 6-7 years of use it would absolutely be worth the $175.

Seems like a great deal. 175 is well worth it as long as they are still waterproof after the repair.

I just got mine back from the shop. The reconditioning includes new soles, insoles, and laces. They also reseal around the top of the rubber rand and condition the leather with their wax. I stood in a creek for 2-3 minutes with them and no leaks. I think it was worth the $175. Amassi is right, to keep them waterproof you should condition the leather with Kenetrek's wax. I typically do it 4-5 times per year depending on how much and in what conditions I wear the boots.

Got them back yesterday, so about exactly a month from the time I sent them off to the time I got them back (their website said 6-8 weeks). Seem to be in good shape, hope all goes well!
