Found a pair of lightly used size 12 non insulated Mountain Extremes online and when I received them I found out the seller conveniently forgot to mention they were in wide width. I always wear a medium width. They came without insoles so I ordered the Superfeet green insoles and the Kenetrek supportive insoles to see which ones I liked better. I read somewhere the Superfeet green were good for taking up extra space if needed. I received the Superfeet today and first impression is that they feel great and lock my foot into the boot. I need to walk some miles and evaluate them but initial impression was that they are very nice. Won't receive the Kenetrek insoles until next week so I have nothing else to compare them too for now. If anyone has any opinions on the Mountain Extremes or preferred insoles I'd like to hear them.

I have a set and use the superfeet greens. I like the greens a lot and do think they take up some room in the toe box. This has been a problem for me with some boots because I am not left with enough toe room. For you it sounds like that could be a plus.

I have a pair of hard scrabbles nib I have not yet taken outside and may end up going with a insulated mountain extreme instead. Interested to hear some thoughts as well.
