I walked in to bass pro simply to waste time the other day and ended up walking out with a pair of desert guide boots. I'm wondering if I'm going to regret them not being waterproof. I primarily hunt in the pan handle of Texas but do have an archery elk hunt in CO.
Can I get away with these for early season mountain hunts? Anyone have experience waxing DG to make them more water resistant? Thanks in advance

I second extremes. I have 400s for when it gets cold, wax them once a year and they stay leak free. If I were you I’d return the deserts and get non insulated extremes

Another fan of mountain extremes. They are a lot of boot for warmer weather. Stiff and warm. I have worn mine down to low single digits and been fine. My feet sweat a lot normally, but in my extremes in warmer weather they get soaked.

Are your boots insulated?
