Kenetrek Bridger hiking boot

I bought a pair specifically to wear on an Arizona elk hunt and would rate them as ok. I wanted the soft feel because I would be hunting out of the truck and the unit I was in has a lot of rocky terrain and the soft sole would be quieter. As a stalking boot they are nice, soft and light. Then I wore them the next year on a high country backpack Colorado elk hunt and they were no where near stiff enough.

Pros
-comfortable, light weight, and no break in.
Cons
-made in China, leaked fairly quickly compared to other boots I own, not very durable, and not suited for steep terrain or packing.

The reason I have the con on durability is because they started leaking inside 1 year old and the sole started to separate from the toe of the boot. I know use them as trail runners for training but don’t wear them often.

Hope that helps.

I love my Hardscrabbles and MEs but the Bridgers are junk. Mine wore out faster than a pair of Merrells. They leaked almost immediately and seams started breaking very early as well.

I had 2 pair, both were the ankle high boots. Hated both pair, very uncomfortable when walking on any type of rough surface (I used them at work), and offered no support in the footbed. Walking across a parking lot with loose rocks (gypsum) made for a very long day, it seems I felt every stone through the soles. I thought they would be on par with the Kenetrek Mountain Extreme, but I was sorely mistaken. I dropped both pair in the Habitat for Humanity clothing drop box at my local Supermarket. I got a good deal on them, so I bought two pair hoping they would work. They didn't. I now wear Solomon 4d GTX3 to work. They are extremely comfortable.

I had two pair several years ago that I used for summer hiking. Complete junk. First pair fell apart. Second pair did the same even faster. Front part of the sole was coming off. You’re likely to get bruises on the bottom of your feet if you hike in areas with occasional rocks. I did and never had it happen with other boots. When I talked to Kenetrek about a refund the woman on the phone said they were more of an “around camp” shoe, which is not how they market them. Look at lowa renegades for a light flexible boot.
