Here's some minor modifications I made to the Gunfighters Inc. Kenai Chest Holster.

Personally I really like this setup; but the kydex tends to dig into your ribs after about 10 hours. This does not seem to be as big of an issue on the custom light-bearing kenai's as the surface area is increased.

My solution was to cut a segment of a thermarest z-lite and lace it through the holes. I used this wax kite string we had at work for lacing wire bundles together to attach it. The other huge benefit is that the holster tends to stay in one spot on your chest if you are wearing a rain jacket, which is often the case in SE Alaska.

Additional minor mods:

- poorly sewn in velcro on the straps. The webbing tends to knot/fold when wearing a backpack. If you sew in velcro this ensures that the velcro will be flat in these areas while adding incremental padding to the chest holster setup.
- Slack webbing is taped up with gorilla tape. Good for when you do need to extend the straps. The main reason for me was when I wear it over a life jacket. Great for being protected while unloading a boat on shore or flat water packrafting.
- Inreach Attachment point. Currently a ziptie but probably will change this to paracord plus heat shrink soon. Really wish that they would have included at least one mounting point on these things.

Not sure how much interest these things get. I also have another modified kenai for my Smith and Wesson 10mm that be willing to show if people were interested. That one has binoculars and range finder pouch attached, so it's all one setup rather than a mess of webbing and pouches.

Thanks for reading!
