Kenai Chest Holster: light and alternative

For those that have a Kenai Chest holster...

Light Question:
Can you run just your gun without the light or do you need to have the light attached for proper retention? I asked the company but have not received a reply.

Kenai Alternative:
The GS Holsters look very similar for quite a bit less in price. I’m trying to figure out if it’s a quality difference or a markup on the Kenai.

I've got one, it's a good rig for oversized revolvers (Mine is for a Ruger Redhawk, but I can fit my S&W 500 in it, too.)
There are better options for a G20/G40.

I run one of these from blackpoint for g20 with a light. I haven't had another chest rig to compare, but am happy with this and several IWB products from blackpoint tactical.

I am running a Gunfighters Inc. for my G20, so far zero issues. I have worn it while out cutting firewood for the season and scouting everyweekend so far for elk season. It sits behind my badlands bino harness nicely and allows good access should i need it.
