So evidently Sitka has discontinued this piece, that’s a bummer, it was part of my list of things to buy for this upcoming archery elk hunt. What would you fellas use in its place?

That’s too bad. I have one and love it. Some guys will tell you it’s too thin, but not me. Look on Mountain Archery, 1 shot gear, and Europtic to find some good deals on remaining stock if your seriously wanting one.

I’d say go for it. Plenty for sale here and there. I like mine a lot. TBH you don’t save a lot of weight with the vest vs the jacket.

Looks like they are discontinuing the jacket as well

Just my guess, but I assume they are going to replace It with something new and very similar In function. probably a new type of insulation and some form refinements. New name and $50 more. If they didn’t have a mid weight puffy layer, it would be a pretty big hole in their line up.

I will say that Sitka has far too many things bearing the “Kelvin” name.

Hmmmm. I guess it could be. Some people aren’t into down so it would surprise me if they didn’t have a fully synthetic puffy In the line up. Just a guess, but I think we will see something with a new name that will be a replacement.
