Keltec 22mag

anyone have experience with keltec. In general and more specifically with the 22mag round?

Always been a huge fan of 22mag. This pistol looks and seems impressive/reliable.

I put a few mags through a PMR. It was fun as hell but it would not be my first choice in a serious situation.

Ive owned 3 of their guns, a KU-16, a PF-9 and because I refuse to learn my lesson a KSG... ill never own another. They are a super innovative company that seems to refuse to try and match their innovative designs with quality materials or construction. All 3 were super uncomfortable to shoot, a while they could be reliable with the right ammo they were very selective. The KU-16 would either run 95% or 20% based on the ammo, there was very little inbetween. And the KSG... gosh, what a horrible manual of arms (when compared to literally any other weapon in known history).

All that to say, they were all 3 kinda fun guns in their own right, but what I saw in built quality and quality of materials has sworn me off them for good. Which I'm kinda sad about since they seem to be one of the few genuinely innovative firearm companies out there. *even if they also have a few copies of other designs mixed in*

22LR touched on the reasons I won't own a PMR-30. Conceptually the gun is fantastic. There are far too many reports of poor reliability though. Their newest rimfire, the CP33 has my attention. I have not read of any reliability issues with it.

I had a PMR-30 and recently sold it. Liked the light weight and mag. capacity. I just didn't see any advantage for me over a .22lr. Also, it was pretty picky on preferred ammo. CCI worked best.

Tough to load the mag without the loader tool & loud as hell but cool pistol none the less.

I had a pmr30 it was a cool piece but mag was hard to load and if ammo wasnt stacked just right it wouldn't feed. I have a sub 2000 in 9 now have shot it much but seems to be ok

Friend of mine used one at a pistol class recently due to running out of ammo for his .45acp. It seemed to run ok except for one dud round which happens with rimfires.

Any more experiences with the PM-30?

A friend let me try his today. I liked the weight, sights, trigger, and it was pretty accurate. However, out of 20 rounds fired, it failed to feed the next round 5 times. The bullet would hit the chamber and stop. The ammo was older but is this typical?

The gun would be great to throw in a backpack, blind bag, or tackle box but would need to be more reliable for me.
