Anyone here with experience with the Kel-Tec P17? A few years ago I would've scoffed at the idea of getting a Kel-Tec, but there is enough positive feedback out there that I'm just about willing to try one out. Seems like they're usually very reliable. The trigger is supposed to be decent, and it has black rear sights with a fiber optic front. I'd love to hear about some firsthand experiences.

I have one, and like it.

It is reliable, fairly accurate and has a decent trigger. I shoot it suppressed with a cheap red dot sight.

It is neither as smooth nor accurate as my Ruger Mark III 22/45. But at about $200 it can’t be beat and is lighter and more compact than the Ruger. It’d make a great backpack gun.

I've shot them at media events. If I close my eyes and don't look at one, I didn't find anything much to complain about.

Every one I ever shot was accurate enough to be a useful small game whacker, functioned reliably with no failures to feed, fire, extract, or eject that weren't ammo related, and the trigger, while not stellar, wasn't some horrid abortion that would prevent an end user from whacking bunnies, grouse, or 10-rings with it.

The Kel-Tec P-17 is arguably one of the better values in modern shooting sport, The only reason why I don't have one is that I'm not fond of the way they look.

I’ve got one… no issues at all. Have shot it suppressed 100% of the time. No failures and a pretty good trigger

I’d buy one. I always liked kel Tec. Long ago, like 25 years ago I had a kel Tec pf9 that had a metal clip on it to hold it in your waist belt. I used to carry that thing everywhere, it was great for when I’d go running or dog walking at night in the city.

I wish I still had it.

I have 2 of them and love’em. Super light and high capacity, low cost, comes with 3 16 round magazines and ready for a suppressor. Greet with my AB littlebird suppressor.
I usually have it when kayak camping, fishing and off the grid for a few days.
For me the benefit over my Ruger MK’s or other 22’s is the lighter weight and having almost 50 rounds in 3 mags. I’ve never had any feeding issues and accuracy is plenty good for how I use it.

I ended up with 2 after letting my stepfather shoot mine, he was surprisingly impressed. We both have plenty of high end handguns. So i bought him one as a gift, when I brought it over to him, he showed me the one he had gone out and bought . So now i have a dark earth and dark green version, and 6 mags
