Hey everyone! Thought we could start a thread for some unique ideas for keeping the wife happy while your away on trips.

When our kids were young I used to pre make freezer meals for each night I would be gone (I’m a better cook than my wife 😉). Great way to take the stress off her so she isn’t handling all the kids activities and bedtime alone.

In the past I have also pre scheduled delivery of little gift baskets for a movie night or some other fun grift basket so a few days after I leave it arrives. I have also just hidden them in the house or had floweres delivered to my wife while I’m gone.

Anyone else do anything similar or have other ideas? I’m exhausting mine and looking for something new!

My wife is very happy for me when I get to go on a good hunt. She claims that I have been gone 24 or 25 days so far this fall. She did go on a girl's trip earlier and did some painting in the house on the last trip. Her level of tolerance is most welcome. I'm one of the lucky ones.

Well as another hunter that does his best to keep the wife happy while she's at home with the kids and I'm away having a good time here at some things I do:

1. Prep meals before heading out
2. Hand her some cash from my stash when I leave to spend on whatever she wants and not consider our budget
3. Plan/force her on a girls trip once a year (she loves it once she goes but refuses to "spend" on herself for it. So I talk to her friends and book it In her calendar
4. Buy her books from her list on kindle or Amazon
5. The week before and after a hunt I'm normally at her disposal. We are a 50/50 team with parenting and house work but I try to be 80/20 before I leave and after I come back. I know she's 100% on while I'm gone and the to make up for that one both sides of a week/9 days away.
6. Flowers - I've done right before I leave but like the idea of delivery while gone!
7. Scratch tickets - we virtually never buy them but she enjoys them now and again as entertainment so I'll buy a few and text her about them once I'm gone to do in an evening.

Idk I try to think of new things each year but fall into habits.
