Keeping a rotomolded cooler from warping

I’m not going to be that guy that doesnt answer the OPs question but says my 4 RTICs( 8/9 years old ) and my 3 Yeti’s (3 years old) are in an unwarped state. Oh wait…. Dad always said the moon warped things. But he was always telling BS facts to see if I would repeat it. Somehow I managed to grow up ok…

I have an old RTIC that I use often for resting meat when it comes off the smoker. I will put an old blanket on the bottom and set a hot brisket in it for an hour or so to rest. Almost always after that hour the lid will warp slightly on the edges. Once the entire cooler cools back down it seems the warp comes back out.

If I store this cooler in the garage with it closed and locked it will warp up on the edges. But if I store it with the lid cracked open it seems to stay flat. I just flip the latches down before closing the lid so that the lid sits on the latches and stays open a inch or so. I think this keeps the inside from trapping hot air and keeps the warping down. Then again this could all be hot air I'm blowing out my behind but it does seem to be consistent for me.

I do have 4 other YETI coolers that don't seem to have any issues stored right next to one another.

You can throw a ratchet strap on it. Tighten it down so everything is back in place and throw it out in the sun for a few days in the heat and it will straighten back out.
