Took a BeFree filter and a Hiker pro in with me last week. Wanted to see the difference in the time filling a 32oz bottle .
BeFree was 20 some odd seconds quicker, required zero effort, compacts smaller and saves weight. Ill be leaving the Hiker Pro at home from now on.

Now larger qtys of water the pump would be easier.

Yup, I have had the befree now for 3 seasons and the hiker pro has been given backup duties...night and day difference.

Also - if you need larger quantities just get a larger bag for the befree, I have the 3L and it beats the hiker pro for larger quantities as well and weighs less.

Amy issues with it slowing way down after a couple of weeks? Bunch of Amazon reviews from 2018 saying this, so wondering if This is still the case? I love Katadyn products so not trying to cause controversy.

As with any filter, there are a ton of variables here based on how cloudy the water is that you are filtering. I haven't had mine in anything nasty, mostly only flowing water in streams with no issues.

The most I have used it for is 10-12 days without washing with no issues whatsoever but I usually replace my filter elements fairly regularly, like at least every other season.

THanks, I usually replace pretty often as well. Thanks, Jared

I have had the befree for a few years now. I use it hard. It has its place. However, it is not durable at all. I’ve gone through three bags. They always replace it for free. But it’s still a hassle. I have noticed the flow rate slow down significantly after hard use for a few days. Additionally, this would not be your answer if you need to filter out of small water sources.
