Kapture vs Olin

Has anyone had a chance to try out the new Kapture digiscoping system? Other than price it looks to be a far better option than Olin or Magview

Price is steep but I am watching their because it’s concept is 100% the best. Replace the factory eyepiece on your optic with a modified factory piece. No more giant contraptions clamped onto your eyepiece messing with eye relief.

It is a novel design which is a great thing.

Unsure how well the tape will hold up over time especially in the heat. I know 3M tape is not handling our 102 F very well; it is not even hot yet.

Can see some folks scratching the lenses during the installation if using the ring mount. Possible warranty issues if using the integrated mount?

Pricey. Would be about $480, using ring mounts, to cover 4 optics (2 binoculars/2 spotters).

Decent optics coverage. Up to the individual to decide how much time they want to invest to see if they can get something working on an unconfirmed optic.

Never tried kapture, but the simplicity of the OLLIN system is what drew me in. If you’re one to trade your phone in often I could see the annoyance and expense of buying new cases.

The ease of use and the additional protection afforded by the len cover are very nice.

I like the case is all in one. I put the case on at the beginning of a hunt and don’t have anything to assemble or adjust. Fool proof system, then even i can’t mess up.

I hunted elk and antelope this fall and used the Kapture system on my binoculars and spotter. I was very satisfied with how they worked. I'd been using MagView but always fought the indexing issue which was never a problem with Kapture. The Kapture phone case is very streamlined and I could carry my phone normally and never notice the adapter on the back. I used the Phone Skope app as I gave up on MV's app when they couldn't get the lens selection problem solved back in 2023. I realize it's not a cheap system but I'm glad I invested the money.

I bought the Kapture, talked to Eric about one of our spotters because its not listed. He was extremely helpful and no complaints so far with it.

I ended up getting the Kapture system and nothing but great things to say about it other than price. The selling point for me was the ring mount that didn't interfere with the eye cup and add any more relief. Wearing glasses everything that mounted over the eye piece made viewing less than enjoyable. If glasses weren't a concern and I was on the fence price wise I personally would get the Olin system.

You mean the same problem they’re having now and can’t handle the IPhone 17? They need to close their doors if they can’t handle changes in today’s changing times. People aren’t going to keep waiting months for their intern to figure it out, on every new phone.

The ring mount that came for my Vortex setup mounted directly on the eye piece with 3m tape. I can't see it causing any issues when removing.

My buddy is in the same boat and called them wanting to switch after seeing mine in use for our Idaho hunt. The response he got was "hang in there until spring we have something new coming". What that means I'm not sure but sounds like possibly a universal option to use an existing phone case.
