Just wondering if there are any western Kansas outfitters that specialize in mule deer hunts for nonresident and reputable? Or also is this a very doable hunt as a diy hunt? Thank you for any insight!

I'm not familiar with any outfitters, but there is a lot of opportunity for a DIY. Our Walk-In hunting program provides a lot of hunting spots in the western units, where you will see more muleys.

The main issue with Mule deer in KS for a non resident is that if you don't draw the mule deer stamp your stuck with the whitetail tag and lic. So make plans to hunt either way or don't put in for the tag. DYI is doable but keep in mind that they, Mule deer a pretty pocketed up in the western third of the state so you might have bounce around a bit in the unit to locate them.

What are you looking to hunt with? I have been out in NW KS twice with a rifle hunting walk-in land. The 1st hunt I took a 160" buck on the first night and the 2nd time I ended up taking a doe for meat on the 3rd day since I wasn't seeing any good bucks.
