kanab or Synthetic pants?

What altitude and area? Colorado can be anywhere from 20-80 and dry to snow that time of year. Elk territory would probably be an avg temp of 50 with some snow for rifle seasons. I think either would work, and will require layers to stay warm. Another good option would be the North Branch pant if you're going to be in the higher altitudes where you're likely to see quite a bit of snow.

You're certainly going to be warmer down there. Either will work great, so I would go with whatever fits you best. The advantage of the Kanab is that the merino will provide a little more warmth but a synthetic will dry quicker, depending on how you are hunting you may have problems keeping things dry if the weather turns bad. I'd consider gaiters (not the FL ones as they are too short to be useful) and a hard shell in case you are dealing with snow.
