K4 that doesn’t fit well, trying to decide between IA or SG

Looking for some input on pack fit and load carry.

I had a K3 that constantly slipped under weight. I’ve been running a K4 for the last two years — it’s better, but still starts sliding once I’m over 40 lbs and needs readjusting about every mile. I’ve swapped hip belts and worked with Exo to confirm fit, but the issue remains.

Previously had a Mystery Ranch, and 30 lbs in that felt like 100 — tons of downward drag.

At camp I tried a Stone Glacier Xcurve with 60 lbs and it felt locked in — zero slip.

Now I’m debating between going with the Xcurve or trying an Initial Ascent to see if it carries heavy loads even better.

5’10”, 200 lbs, stocky build.

I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to go for A hike with SG it on. But it did feel far more snug and secure than my k4

I think SG has a 30 return window. Buy, go hike heavy, if not happy return and try something else.

I think you are heading in the right direction trying out the stone glacier if it seemed to fit better. For me Exo and Stone Glacier are still by far the top options.
