I currently have a K3 4800 that I really love. I'm kicking around the idea of getting a K3 1800 bag as well to use as a daypack....streamline and lighten the load a little bit when not using the 4800 for packing in. Anyone use the 1800 on day hunts from the truck? Things that I carry with me for a dayhunt:

Kill Kit (knife, extra blades, sharpener, game bags)
Possibles Kit (paracord, extra headlamp, lightweight tarp for emergency shelter or to lay meat on, battery charger and cord, firestarter, Water filtration)
Lunch and Snacks
Small First Aid kit and Emergency space blanket.
Water bladder or Nalgenes (depends on my mood)
Puffy Jacket
Rain Gear (if forecasted)

Would the K3 1800 have enough space for this?
Thanks!

Had an 1800 and replaced it with a K2 2000 bag that I found to be much better with the additional capacity.

I went through this same thought process. Had a 4800, bought an 1800. Never used the 1800 - it just doesn't do anything the 4800 wasn't already doing perfectly well. Tried it twice, came to the same conclusion the second time. The weight savings just didn't matter enough to me on a day hunt. I also don't like the side pockets on the 1800, not even a little bit.

That said, the 1800 has plenty of space for day hunts. You can also add the lid to it, which works very well.

I picked up and 1800 from a member on here and just got it today and threw it on my frame. I think for day hunts I’m going to like it.
