I picked up my first suppressor yesterday, a Thunder Beast Ultra-7 Gen 2. Very happy! A question about appropriate use: I’d like to use it on my rat-shooter (among others), a Tikka Varmint in .223. When we target sage rats the normal volume of fire for a day is around 250 rounds. Is this too much for a suppressor for one day?

I wouldn’t worry a bit about cumulative fire in a day, as long as you don’t get it glowing hot at any point during it…

you will love shooting even more than you did before, like others have said rate of fire is more of a concern then cumulative rounds in a day.

Definitely will want a cover ASAP,
or bring a wet rag in a bottle of ice water (what I did before my most recent ones showed up) or anyway to cool it faster as not to get the sensation of watching paint dry while waiting for Mirage to dissipate

Great choice.
Your can will be fine. TBAC makes a quality piece of equipment.
Rate of fire from a bolt action won’t be an issue.
If you put in on an AR, don’t dump 2 30 round mags back to back.
Mirage may be an issue. Suppressor cover will help.

You will shoot more varmints with a suppressor. Dosnt spook the rest of them like a centerfire.

With a cover, on a 223 I highly doubt you are going to exceed the firing schedule of the suppressor shooting at prairie dogs or sage rats.
