I've used mine at 9600' and it worked fine but YMMV. They're less efficient the higher you go but they still work.Totally agree except when you're in your trailer is at 8000'+ and your Mr. Heater Buddy won't stay lit, had a cold night to learn that one. Their directions say 7000' max. I like the safe Zodi heat exchanger unit that could run off my house battery but it's never in stock.
If you want an alternative to the Zodi try looking for those diesel heaters everyone is putting in their vans. There are tons of $200-ish kits on Amazon that could be used for something like this. I'd put the heater outside and use a hose, just for safety and noise reduction.
