I bought this just to do some testing. I have boiled water in this 4 times on my kitchen table. This stove has never been outside my house so basically its brand new. this thing is sweet and can go from torch to simmering which is what its known for. the short and wide pot are ideal for cooking inside the pot, not just for boiling water.
