Looking at the uncompahgre jacket and the sitka kelvin light hoody jacket. Anyone have experience with these two.

Imo they both are great jackets for their intended purpose. Cant go wrong with either. Beyond that your going to get fan answers. If you already run first lite and need a warm packable puffy go for it. And Visa versa. I personally just got the uncompahgre in march and haven tested it too much but I've warn it in the cold (only mid 30s) , in light rain, and wind. It was nice in all these conditions. It will be in my pack for backcountry hunting But I have no extended use to speak on.

I have and use both. I think my kelvin light is a bit warmer. Others find it the other way around.

I think the FL puffy does best as an out layer. It compresses under a shell.

They arms on my most recent subalpine kelvin are a bit skinny.

I have owned both. I sold the Uncompahgre. I always have the Sitka Kelvin Lite with me....it is my favorite jacket. I much prefer the fit of the Kelvin lite. The Uncompahgre is a nice jacket I just prefer the Kelvine Lite.

I didn’t keep the fl long because it didn’t fit me right and felt really bulky for the warmth. The sitka was much better in those regards. In the end I went back to down. Of the two I would go with the sitka primarily for the fit.

Sitka is louder bc the sleeves are the same material as the body. Fl has quieter sleeves. I think they fit very similar but you have to size down with the fl.

The newer Kelvin lites are definitely much quieter than the older ones. I see no noticeable difference between the two noise wise, but I prefer the Kelvin over the Unc. Both are good jackets though.
